Deserved WAY more recognition than he got. What a sad life he lived.

A tad unusual song subject, but catchy enough to become a classic 60s hit. Not particularly popular with narcoleptics, however. One of the first uses of the Hammond organ in pop music, along with nice string section arrangement. LWJ is probably better known for his more soulful 1958 "Fever".

I remember as a teenager in my muscle car driving and listening to this song. This song would pump me up like a drug. I was so happy doing this. This was in the mid 1960s. Lots of great music in those days and in the 50s.

Just dug this up and got a real kick out of hearing it again. A favorite of my childhood. Came out when I was about 12 or 13 years old. Used to listen to it in the playground on my transistor radio. Just learned about his tragic end. Too bad about that but this song will live in my heart forever.

Probably my favorite song from 1960. Little Willie John knocked it out of the park with this one!!
