Why yes, I am looking at my vinyl copy of welcome to hell right now. You are right, they did coin the phrase "Black Metal". But there was no "black metal" scene at that time. And I should correct myself and Say early modern Black metal music, Not just a phrase, Started in the Late eighties with Bathory "under the sign of the black mark". Thanks for all of your wisdom on correcting me. You are a true black metal fan.

Does anyone have the lyrics to this album? Great band, wish they were still together...

This is black metal? LOL. The verse riff sounds like a soundgarden radio rock band ripoff.

Sorry i am an old 43. Soundgarden formed in the 80s. Black metal in the early 90s, when you were listing to the backstreet boys.

I think metalattackborn1986 should wikipedia "Black metal" It states During the 1980s, several THRASH metal and DEATH metal bands formed a PROTOTYPE FOR black metal. This so-called "first wave" included bands such as Venom, Bathory, Hellhammer and Celtic Frost.[4] A "second wave" arose in the early 1990s, spearheaded by Norwegian bands such as Mayhem, Burzum, Darkthrone, Immortal and Emperor. The early Norwegian black metal scene developed the style of their forebears into a DISTINCT genre.

What makes this not black metal? Black Metal is not solely based around one strict and stagnant sound. It is more about the lyrical content and mindset of the musicians. I am actually happy to see bands that are not just copying their predecessors.
