This music by Maurice Jarre is a wonderful masterpiece and brings intense tears to my eyes. Makes me think of a world at peace with love, tolerance and unity for all mankind. This music should not only be the anthem of Pennsylvania but of the United States. and Maurice Jarre should be President.

I love this music. I have always thought that it should also have some beautiful lyrics with which to reveal full emotion. Yes, a masterpiece of musical genius.

The attention to detail, beautiful cinematography, breathtaking score and well written script make this movie a stunner. So many layers of meaning here and they elevate this film way above the average "cops vs. bad guys" story. I wish all movies could be this well made.

I first saw this film at age ten or twelve. I loved it but did not fully comprehend the the great dramatic and spiritual masterpiece. This film, to me is spiritual cinema.

The movie and this multi-layered music remained one of my all-time favorites.
