I am going to see him at Covent Garden on Wednesday. Personally, I prefer Richard Croft with Mark Minkowski conducting, and I think it is a semi-tone higher.
M melody fan One
He is a brilliant tenor, but his voice does not suit this part. Its like letting a formula 1 car start in Le Mans. In this aria, his voice is simply to sharp and forcefull. For me the best singer for this part was Leopold Simoneau.

I think Richard Croft with Mark Minkowski is superior. There is a live performance, in concert on You Tube, that is superb.
